Privacy
The site has one form: the contact form. The site does not publish comments. This page describes what the form stores and why.
Who is responsible for the data
Responsibility for the data from the contact form lies with me, Vladimir Ivanov, the owner of the site. If you have questions about it, write to me through the form on the contact page.
Messages sent through the form
The contact form is on the contact page and under every note. In both places it stores the same things: your name, email address, subject, text, the time of sending and a hash of your IP address. Along with the message, the system also stores the IP address itself. A copy of the message stays on the site’s server so that nothing gets lost. Messages are not published on the site.
IP address
With every message from the contact form, the system stores the sender’s IP address.
An irreversible hash is also made from the IP address, and all it can show is whether two submissions came from the same address. The hash and the time of sending are needed for spam protection: this is how I limit the number of submissions from one address.
How long the data is kept
- The hash of the IP address is erased after 30 days.
- A copy of a message from the contact form is kept for a year.
- The system keeps the sender’s IP address for no longer than a year.
Cookies
The contact form sets no cookies. If you pick a language in the switcher, the site remembers your choice for a year in a cookie named locale, which holds only the language code.
Video
The video on the About page loads from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) only after you press “Watch the video”. Until then the page makes no requests to YouTube, and once you press it, YouTube’s privacy rules apply.
Where the data is stored
The data is stored on the site’s server. The spam protection works there too: your browser solves a small computational task. Messages from the contact form come to my inbox. The system keeps the IP address they were sent from for no longer than a year.
How to delete your data
To have all your data deleted, write to me through the form on the contact page and in the “Email” field enter the same address you gave before. That is the address I will write to, and I will delete everything.
